James Chase (died 23 June 1721) was an English apothecary and member of parliament.
==Life==
Chase was Apothecary to the Crown and later served as one of the two members of parliament for the borough of Great Marlow in Buckinghamshire from 1690 to 1710.〔''Notes and Queries: A Medium of Intercommunication'' (1917), p. 267: "James Chase, M.P. for Great-Marlow 1690 till unseated in a double return, December, 1710, and defeated there 1715. He was described as of Great Marlow, “formerly Apothecary to the Crown,” and died June 23, 1721 ('Hist. Reg')"〕
Chase lived at Great Marlow, where Westhorpe House was built for him.〔William Page, ed., ''A History of the County of Buckingham'' (Victoria County History, Vol. 3, 1969), p. 78〕
